Iron is an essential mineral that the body needs for physical growth, nerve growth, cell function and the synthesis of some hormones. Iron regulates cognitive function, increases metabolism, improves oxygen supply, strengthens immune system function, and reduces fatigue. Iron deficiency is common in children, teenage girls, women of reproductive age and post menopause. Since iron deficiency is associated with poor diet, malabsorption disorders, and blood loss, people with iron deficiency usually have other nutritional deficiencies as well. Although iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia, deficiency of other microelements (such as folate and vitamin B12) and other underlying factors (such as chronic infection and inflammation) can cause different types of anemia or accelerate its severity 2. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common nutritional deficiency, and it accounts for more than 50% of all anemias. It is clear that dietary changes alone are not sufficient to correct and treat iron deficiency. Therefore, taking iron supplements is necessary.

Iron is an essential mineral that the body needs for physical growth, nerve growth, cell function, and the synthesis of some hormones. Iron regulates cognitive function, increases metabolism, improves oxygen supply, strengthens immune system function, and reduces fatigue. Iron deficiency is common in children, teenage girls, women of reproductive age, and post-menopause. Dietary changes alone are not sufficient to correct and treat iron deficiency. Therefore, taking iron supplements is necessary. The use of conventional oral iron supplements in many patients is associated with problems and side effects such: as insufficient absorption, patient non-acceptance, and limitations in various inflammatory conditions. Gastrointestinal intolerance (nausea, bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation) is the most common side effect associated with conventional iron. Unlike conventional iron supplements, Liposomal iron has a phospholipid layer that ensures higher absorption and bioavailability, better tolerance, and the least gastrointestinal side effects3. Other advantages of liposomal iron are less interference with food contents, lack of exposure to different digestive enzymes, targeted administration of iron, and the possibility of prescribing lower doses due to direct absorption of iron without the need for protein carriers4. Folate or vitamin B9 is naturally present in many foods. The body needs folate to make DNA and cell division. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. Women who are of reproductive age or pregnant should take folic acid to prevent birth defects in the fetus such as spina bifida. Folic acid supplementation is also used for many other diseases including depression, stroke, impaired memory, and decreased thinking skills. The body needs 400 micrograms of folic acid daily. Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for normal brain development, maintaining the health of the nervous system, and strengthening the immune system. Vitamin B6 is commonly associated with deficiencies of other B vitamins such as folic acid (vitamin B9) and vitamin B12. The recommended daily intake of vitamin B6 for adults is 1.3 mg. Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a nutrient that helps with blood health and DNA building. Vitamin B12 deficiency leads to megaloblastic anemia. Studies show that vitamin 12B deficiency can also cause depression5. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant in the body and helps to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. In addition, vitamin C improves iron absorption and helps immune system function improvement.Flip® 20/30 capsules have liposomal iron with high absorption and bioavailability properties and excellent tolerability, helping to supply iron needed by the body and prevent iron deficiency. The presence of vitamin C in this capsule increases the iron absorption rate. Also, Flip® capsules, having the right amount of folic acid and vitamins B12 and B6, prevent the incidence of anemia     Supplement Fact
