Complications of Iron deficiency Anemia (IDA) in children
Hemoglobin is a type of protein that allows red blood cells to carry oxygen to the body tissues. IDA in children, disturb the process of oxygen supply to body cells, so enough oxygen which is vital for all cellular functions does not reach to cells.
Fatigue, pale skin, mood disorders, dizziness especially when standing, irritability, slow growth can be symptoms of iron deficiency in children, which should be treated with Felip®- Felip Fort®.
Some of the IDA causes are: premature birth, nutritional, digestive system problems, blood loss and other underlying causes.
Daily iron requirement by age is as follows:
Children 7 to 12 month | 11 mg/day |
Children 1 to 3 years | 7 mg/day |
Children 4 to 8 years | 10 mg/day |
Children 9 to 13 years | 8 mg/day |
In case of IDA, the daily dose will be prescribed by the physician.
